Sorry if this is the wrong area for this question, but..

is there a solution out there for cleaning components, INCLUDING system fans? That will not destroy the plastic fans? I used some cleaner that was supposedly "safe for most plastics", but soon as it hit my cpu fan the fan ( plastic ) just popped right off and broke. I since tested it on an old 120mm case fan, same thing. So, I was wondering if there was any so called " computer bath" type stuff out there? Just a spray and go type stuff.

Thanks..!

compressed air spray.

Thanks for the reply...

But the smokers in the house make compressed air spray non effective, except for standard dust. This other stuff, from the smoke and humidity, makes a residue that is quite impossible to "spray off" with just air.

As to cleaning fans ONLY, compressed air or even a slightly damp rag. Ensure it is not soaking wet that it seeps into the bearings , just carfully clean the blades.
