Which one is better? i lofe theamd 64 but not sure which chip to go for? thanks for your help

Go for the Socket 939, the 754 is mostly used by some Sempron and sucky AMD 64, none of them go over 800Mhz FSB.

When s939 first came out, s754 was still the better choice.
Since the release of the 90 nano venice chips, the s939 has taken control.
939 has dual channel, cooler chips, SSE3, better ODMC, and OC more.

Mostly, chips of equal pr are about the same price. If one is cheaper, generally it's the newer one.

if yur budget is so tight that a difference of $10 means you wont be able to upgrade then the socket 754 is the processor of choice..

If you can easily afford a socket 939 - then by all means buy it!

Socket 939 is the newest of the 2 you have listed there- with socket 939 you get a better upgrade path - plus all the things mentioned above

I agree with the comments above.

Strongly recommend 939.

Ideally socket 939 with the nForce4 chipset. That's the best combination.

Simple logic.. Which has the largest selection of MB to choose from ??
What has the most support and features for MB present/future {standard ddr}???
What performs better ??

Answer .. 939/ Single or Dualcore.. and if your bios is new enough. you can chose ither dualcore or single core for the same motherboard..

This mans humble opinion..
