decreasing lan speed........

i have connected 2 pc's using cross over cables
i established a connection at a rate of 100MBps
later speed came down to 10MBps.
now there is no connection....
i am using winXP on both pc's

Try rebooting all and see what happens.

Double check all cables, connections etc.
