I have a 420w ATX powersupply. It does not have a 6 pin sli connector. I am not going to use sli. I read somewhere that I still need to connect the power to sli via 6pin even when only using one card. Is this correct?
You may want to provide more info if this does not answer your question.
The 6pin connector is for the video card, because the motherboard does not supply enough power for it. It plugs right into the end of the card, this only applies for the newer nvidia card starting with the 6800 and 7800 series. An adapter should come with the video card when you buy it.
