new AMD proc socket

i was just wondering what you guys have heard about amd's new socket and when exactly is it going to be avaliable. i also wanted to know what processors will be releases with the new socket

Rumor has it an FX60-like processor will be rebadged as an X2-5000, plus a dual core FX62 at 2.8 GHz/1 Meg cache...

I'd expect them to debut around $900 and $1300 retail, and only give predictable/linear performance increases over existing socket 939 rigs...no reason to rush into M2, I'd give them 6 months to straighten up MB BIOS issues....

Long of the story....never buy version 1.0 of anything, especially mainboards!

Every processor made for the new socket will probably have +200 PR points added even if it runs at the same clock/cache as their skt939 counterpart.

theres gonna be lower end ones too... i think it goes down to 3500+ then 3800+ and 4000+... dualcores is the same i believe, they may drop the 3800 but i forget how it goes, toms has a preview somewhere... i agree that u should wait until updates are out, new sockets are always bugged
