I wonder if someone can help me out with a situation that is causing me a
lot of headache....

I have a server running Terminal Server 2003, 3Gz Processor, 2GB Ram etc..

We have a remote site in Belfast, linking into our Glasgow office. The
Belfast office has a 512K ADSL line, our Glasgow Office has a 2MB
connection. (20:1 contention ratio). 12 Users accessing from that branch.

We are finding that when users connect into the system, in the morning, the
speed of every day tasks is fine but soon after, we find the system starts
to go very sluggish, email takes a good minute to open up, typing anything
sees the data stalling then appearing etc....

Initially we though it was the server itself taking a hammering, but the
processor, memory etc all seems to be sitting pretty unstressed, so we are
now thinking it is the ADSL line.

Can anyone give me any links, information or help on how I can try to work
out why we have this speed issue? The pressure is on for me to try and sort
this out quickly as I have all the users complaining they can't use the
system as it stands........

I feel the rope tightening round my neck already....

TIA

I too am suffering the same issue, but we have three branches that are
suffering the same thing...
I have tried to find a link online for anything related to Terminal Server
and speed issues, but so far I am stumped.
If you do get any info back, please post here to let me know!

It appears to be an issue that a lot of people are suffering from, but there
does not appear to be any definitive answer around to help us out.

Maybe someone will have a solution, or advice on here, touch wood!

Well it would appear the solution to our problem was down to the Sonic Wall
in the main branch being wide open to all connections and our bandwidth was
being drained!!!!! We have locked down all ports non essential and the speed
appears to have picked up!
I just hope it continues!!!
