help with tv card

I'm debating buying a tv tuner card for my pc but I have no experience with them. I have digital cable and some of the channels are HD. I would love an HD capable card, but was wondering if it would be worth it since I just have a 17" Dell Ultrasharp. I know my graphics card can display HD. Also, would a regular tuner card be worth the money, and if so, what do you recommend?

Also, can I use an ATI Tv card with an Nvidia graphics card?

You should be able to use the ATI TV card with the NV graphics card. Skip HD as you aren't gaining much with it for the next year or so (lack of HD channels) other option would be to sell you 6800 and buy and All-In-Wonder X1800xl which would improve your gaming and give you tv tuner all in one package.

alright, thanks for responding. will digital cable channels work with a tuner card, or just basic cable?

It should work with the ATI cards for sure. Dont know about others
