Dev vs. User CAL problem

I have TS on a Window 2003 server and the Licensening server is also Windows
2003. All clients are XP Pro. I install 70 Per Device CAL on the
Licensensing server. Several Months ago. Today when I log in the terminal
server says that my "Temporary license will expire in 15 days". Why? When I
look in my licensing server only half of the Per Device CALs are used.
Looking on Microsofts knowledge base it says you need to purchase EITHER
"Per Device" CAL's or "Per User" CAL's. Not both.
Did I install the CAL's wrong? How can I tell?

The Licensing Manager should show you exactly which type of
licenses you have installed, how many of each are available,
issued, etc. You can install both types on a single Licensing
Server, although it is not recommended to mix types, because of the
administrative difficulties to keep track of them.
Is there anythjing in the EventLog?
If you check the "Issued on" dates of the licenses that have been
issued, can you detect a pattern there? Did it suddenly stop
working, some months ago? If so, check the EventLog also at that
time.

Hi Vera,
Licensing manager says they are "Windows Server 2003 - Terminal Server Per
Device CAL Token". The Type column shows open and the Issued column shows
25. And I have 45 available for a total of 70. When I look into that
license it shows 25 licenses issued to computers. I went to look for my
computer name and it is not listed. Anyway, the oldest was issued on
03/21/05 and expires 05/21/05, two months. some go from 04/11/05 to
06/25/05 a little over two months.
There doesn't seem to be much of a pattern. I know we started some of our
user training on April 12 and I see 9 licenses issued 04/12/05 that all
expire on 06/15/05, that's 65 days.
There are no errors in the event viewer.
In Terminal Services Configuration under Server Settings, the Licensing
setting says "Remote Desktop for Administration" if that means anything.
Any Ideas??

So basically, everything looks perfectly normal, with expiration
dates between 52-89 days.
(I was at first very confused about your statement:
> In Terminal Services Configuration under Server Settings, the
> Licensing setting says "Remote Desktop for Administration" if
> that means anything.
until I realized that this is on the licensing server, not the
terminal server)
Don't you see an item in Licensing Manager called "Temporary 2003
Per Device TS CALs"? Should be there!
Is your PC the only client which has received a temporary license?
If it is, have you tried to delete the temporary license from the
client:
187614 - Removing Terminal Server Licenses from an RDP Client
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=187614
And just to avoid misunderstandings: have you checked the EventLog
on the Terminal Server? That's where I would expect problems with
licenses to show up.

Ok, I see the Temporary licenses per device CAL and it has 4 issued.
Also, I look into the Temporary and Windows licenses, where it lists the
computer names that have been issued licenses and neither my laptop (expires
in 14 days) or my desktop (expires in 6 days) is listed.
...........
Just deleted keys in regedit on my laptop per the KB article in your post.
That seemed to work, I log on now to the terminal server from my laptop and
now I can see my computer name in the Windows server 2003 Dev CAL list and I
did not get the error message.
So I assume that once the Temp license expires that I will be issued a Valid
CAL?

No, I think you have to delete the temporary license from your
desktop as well. If it hasn't picked up a permanent licenses by
