this system has taken a lot of decision making for about a month and i want to make should it is worth the price, which is $3 109.28 in Canadian dollars.

i could spend up to 4500 plus tax but i figured that the extra 1000 wasn't worth the slight performance gains of RAID 0 with 2 150g raptors and dual 7800gtx, and fx-57,
what do you think

Dual Raptors in RAID 0 is DEFINITELY worth the cash. I have 2x 74GB raptors. I swear on my mother's virginity Windows boots twice as fast. From the BIOS to my desktop it takes 16 seconds to boot.

You don't have to go w/ the new 150's... they're not going to be significantly faster than the 74 giggers. Newegg is selling them for $150 w/ a $20 mail in rebate.

Here are some benches on the new 150's... they're faster, but the 74GB ones are already blazing fast.

For a bad ass gaming rig, RAID 0 and Raptors are a must. Trust me on this one... you won't be sorry for the extra $150 you'll spend on the 2 raptor's.

If you're going to be using 4x512MB I would seriously recommend DFI UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert instead.

I noticed the same thing, but was thinking of another direction, such as 2x1024MB instead.
