I have tried to install windows XP and SuSE but whenever i turn on my computer i always get an error saying that primary drive 0 cannot be found.
I really dont want to spend money on a new drive unless i have to.
Any suggestions would be great.

I generally set the boot priority to CD/DVD at first, install WIndows up to the point where it wants to reset the computer, then jump back into the BIOS to set it to drive "0".....

In the initial post, does the hard drive show up at all in the BIOS?

(Concur with other post, check to make sure you don't have both Cd/DVD and IDE drive as master..or are you booting from SATA drive?)
