Hey all, hows it going? Here is my idea at the moment. Im wondering if I can get an opinion if this is worth doing, and if it will raise my performance by that much..

Right now I have an amd sempron 2800+
ECS k8-m800 motherboard(which is horrible for Ocing)
Agp x850pro(12 pipes)
Kingston valueram 2x 512mb pc2700.

Im thinking of returning my x850 pro, selling my mobo and ram, and buying these items to replace them...

Now this new card has the additional 4 pipelines, plus it will run alot faster, and the ram is a step up, and the mobo has pretty nice OCing abilites... Once i sell my ram and return my graphics card, this is actually gonna cost me less, as I paid 250 for the x850 pro... so any opinions? is it worth the hassle?

Well, if you think you can upgrade and come out ahead money-wise at the same time, it can't hurt...

If it's going to cost you any money, I'd be leary of investing any more money in a socket 754 rig...

The Sempron isnt a bad processor, but it takes a 3300+ Sempron to keep up with an A64/2800+..

If you are wanting another video card for the $200 range, find an AGP 6800GS, pretty much the best bang for the buck at $209 there is...

Otherwise, if it's gonnna cost ya, I'd keep the whole rig as is, and save for teh jump to either an NF4/939 rig, or even socket M2 a few months down the road...
