what is the difference between the gt and gtx and is it worth the extra money, and if not is the gt worth the extra for the 6800

The GT has 20 PIXEL pipelines, the GTX has 24. Look on Tomshardware for tests of these two and its comparison to the 6800 Ultra.

In some new games, the GTX can be up to 80% faster than the GT, in others, hardly 10%. It depends.

The 6800 Ultra is generally about 20% slower than a 7800 GT.

I have a 6800gt 256meg now just about to get a 7800gtx

Like me if you play a lot of high end games and you want to see them at the max quality now and new games that will come out in the nexted 1-3 +years you will need 512 megs of ram in my opin.

the gtx is a lot faster as well, than the gt.
i have topay $1000 for it here but i think its worth it

Please state/link one gaming example benchmark where the GTX256 is 80% faster than a 7800GT at 1280x1024 and below .... (I doubt many are using 1600x1200 for a GT or GTX in the newest titles like FEAR or COD2 anyway)

Edit.... Ooops...! i followed your link, and you were indeed correct..I even saw an example where it was right at 100% faster, which I would not have expected..!
