RAM Timing - Performance Benchmarks

I understand the technical ramifications of RAM timing, but how does it really affect real-world performance. Are there any benchmarks where ONLY the RAM timing has changed? (Say 4-4-4-8 T2 DDR2 versus 2.0-2-2-5 T1 DDR2)

oooh. I read about this recently. Must find article!

The net result was 1T @ fastest timings vs SPD led to about a 5-10% imporvement in SOME circumstances.

I'll see if I can locate the URL and get bak to you!

From the article above, it seems like you get a nice FPS boost in games, as long as your vid card's not the bottleneck. I can see it helping in other places, not not noticibly.
