I have two p3 slot1 CPU's, 500/512/100/2.0v, and a 533/512/133/2.0v

I presume the 500 is dead, as it will not post on either of two boards ( a dfi and a via chipset board )

I am not sure about the 533b as neither board supports it.

Both chips have been removed from there cases and carefully checked over with a jeweler's loop. No evidence of any fried parts are evident.

Both CPU's are free to a good home to someone that a) has a board to support them and b) some success in troubleshooting them. All you need to do is pay the shipping, which should be in the neighborhood of 3-4 bucks.
