ok im a bit confused now

we all kno that pipes are good.. the more the better
but since the x1900 has 16 pipes and 48 pixel shaders it can perform even better than a 7800gtx 256mb. the 7800gtx has 24 pipes but only 16 pixel shaders..so in this new age of video cards..is the pixel pipe going obsolete?

Good question except that the 7800 has more than 16 pixel shaders (I think?). It has 16 ROPs or Raster Operations Processors.

I'm pretty sure the 7800 GTX has 24 pixel shaders.
