I'm relatively new at dealing with Pocket PC's, so hopefully there's any
easy solution to this problem.............

I have downloaded many WMA music files to my Samsung I700 phone, which has
Windows Media Player 9 for Pocket PC. WMP can recognize and play these files
with no problem whatsoever, but any third party application (Pocket Player,
Pocket Music, etc) I install on my Pocket PC is unable to play these songs
even though they recognize the file formats, etc. These thrid party
applications deal OK with MP3 files, but not the WMA files. I transfer these
files to the Pocket PC through Windows Media Player 10 on my deskptop, and
I'm wondering if Microsoft somehow is attempting to control how the WMA
files are recognized or played.

What I really want to be able to accomplish is to have buttons assigned so I
can fast forward or rewind the music I'm listening to. Windows Media Player
doesn't have this feature, and most all of the third party apps allow for
this. If there's some kind of skin or custom add-in that will allow this to
happen to Windows Media Plyaer, I'd be grateful for the info.

Thanks very much in advance for any help anyone can provide.

I believe that there's an issue with thrid party players getting the correct
license to allow their players to play wma files. You can however map
buttons in windows media player. Tap Tools>Settings>Buttons and from here
you can choose the actions for the different buttons on your devices.

Are the wma files variable bit rate? some players, especially older ones and
older versions may only be able to play fixed rate- same with mp3 files.
