Note: here's a clip from Financial Time yesterday.. the rest of the
article is `payperview'. Just to give an idea what $1bn is.. it could
build the entire Sprint Telecom Campus in Kansas City including 15
parking garages, a waterfall, and campanile. $1bn could build the
finest university campus. That's 1000 million bucks!

The global airline industry could lose $5.5bn (£2.9bn)
in 2005 because of continuing high crude oil prices,
according to a warning on Monday by Giovanni Bisignani,
chief executive of the International Air Transport
Association.

The total losses by the world's airlines in the five
years from 2001-05 would then exceed $40bn.

...though UAL lost over $5bn alone since 2001.
also notice $ to £ ratio. Perhaps more will be
joining the flightsim crowd.
