How to log-into the same session

Hi

We have a Win2003 Standard server configured as a terminal server for our
remote users.
I'm wondering if it is possible that each user is always connected in to the
same session. For example:
UserX alway connect to session1
UserY always connect to session2 etc...

I need this because when a UserX connects to TS, printers that are
redirected are viewed as ''printerxy on userx in session 1'', next time when
it's a different session printer is set in session 2 etc... But users are
using applications that are configured to work with exact printer names that
are installed under printers, so if another time user logs into and the
printer name is different because of the 'session name' printing from our
application doesn't work.

Or if it is possible to set that printers are viewed only as 'printer on
userx' without 'session' suffix?

Thank you all in advance
Regards
Miha

Yes and No,

when you create the inital session, if you disconnect the client and UserX
was the one who logged in then it will reconnect to his same session, and
UserY will connect to his session in the same way, there are however some
cavates.

UserX will always need to use his/her username to connect to that session
and the Same for UserY. If UserX or UserY moves computers and logs on then
the redirected printers will change, also when the machine is restarted the
sessions will be destroyed.

Are these users local to you enviroment? If so share their printers and add
them directly to the terminal server.

Disable the printer redirection (you can do this globally on the server if
you wish) and set the Users profile up to use the correct default printer.

Thanks for the tips.
So if I got this right, I need to configure terminal server that after users
are disconected the sessions remains active for unlimited time - so that the
next day when user logs in, it is directed to the same session as the day
before. I'm asking becasue I set that TS ends a disconected session after 1
hour.

how do you use a user profile to set the correct default printer ?
