would you recommend using a zalman cnps9500 to overclock a 3.0 preshott to 3.6? if so, would the temps be very good?

I wouldnt recommend overclocking a prescott...
But that is most likely the best air cpu cooler you can buy.

Prescotts actually overclock pretty good if you get the right stuff.
Mozzartusm got his close to 5ghz stable on water.
They run hot, but handle it well.

Prescotts are very overclockable... the trick is to keep the temp down. That is a good cooler, but I'm not sure if you'll be able to squeeze 600mhz out of it. You might need to go the watercooling route if u want that much Mhz. Keep in mind that Thermaltake sells a good and cheap watercooling solution for around $99. That's only $30 more than the Zalman u want. Can't hurt to try the Zalman though. Here's a link to the Thermaltake water cooling product:

nah, just go with the zalman, probably can outperform the aquagate and come even or better with the big water

Just thought that there would be much less hassle and maintainance if i stayed with air cooling.

so if i take the zalman then what do you think i could get the 3.0 preshott up to stable, frequency-wise? 3.3? 3.4? 3.6?

3.6 with good air cooling which is 20% overclock, not to hard to get.
