I am an avid gamer, and a graphic designer. I currently have a very nice CRT monitor that works great. As much as I like my CRT, it does take up a lot of space. I would like to move away from CRT technology and get a couple, if not a few, LCD displays to hook up to my new system. To my surprise, I was unable to find a 17-19" LCD that supported anywhere close to the same resolution as my CRT monitor.
Does anyone know why Desktop LCD displays 19" and below only support SXGA (1280x1024) resolutions? Laptop LCD displays down to 16" support up to UXGA (1600x1200) resolutions. What is the difference in the technologies?
