I just ran 3dMark05 and I got a score of 4052. Now Im pretty sure it should be a little higher than that. I have a Built By Ati Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition running on AGP 4x.

I have 2.0ghz and 512DDR Ram.

I didn't run the CPU tests but every other test ran.

My motherboard BIOs is updated to the latest version. I am using Catalyst 6.1. Im running Windows XP Home with SP1.

I havent overclocked this card and I dont think it's overheating or anything.

What am I doing wrong? or does that look right?

Im guessing your CPU is holding you back. If you upgrade your CPU you should get much higher scores. And a Gig of Memory helps too.

I've got a X850XT that scores 5700 in 3DM05, with 1Gig of ram and a 2800+ Barton. So your scores seem right. For higher scores, Oompa is right, a faster processor and 1 gig of ram would help. That vid card is a bit overkill for your system at the moment. The fact that your running agpx4 isn't helping either..

That happens to me too... I'm running a Dell 3.4GHz Prescott 2M, 1GB Ram... And my scores was like 4900 something something... Highly suspect the northbridge of Dell's 925XE is slacking. After i changed the heatsink, installed Omega drivers and made few tweaks, it shoot up to 5839... Strange... Anyway, Omega drivers recommended... loL!

If you want an adequate score with 3Dmark05 you will need to purchase AMD. Intels are decent processors but currently in the Proc war AMD has the upper hand. Until Intel brings out their newer procs at full force(to recoop, AMD will continue to pull away.

I will post my score link when I get home from work I was able to hit in the 8000's. When running the test there were certain parts where my system at stock was running lil rough. I wonder how intense 3Dmark06 is?

Specs:
AMD 64bit 4000+
2gig dual channel PC3200 gEIL
ASUS A8N5X
EVGA Gforce 7800GTX KO 256mb
WD 320gig SATA
WD 80gig SATA 150
ASPIRE 680 Watt

Hmm.. you could try running 3DMark 05 then compare the score in the forum. Default settings. Like what StigHelmer said, the scores does not only determined by the gfx card itself. Processor and memory are also important point to note.

In reply to Shata,
I'm not sure by testing the CPU will change the scores as scores are determined by the game benchmark. Anyway I tried and my score shoot up again to 6558. o.0?

Well Ive decided to sell the card and buy a new motherboard cuz im running a 3 year old COMPAQ Motherboard with P4 2.0ghz.

Im looking to purchase an AMD motherboard and an AMD 3800+. No point on trying to overkill my COMPAQ motherboard with high end graphics card....

will buy a graphics card right before summer I guess.

4052 i 3dmark05 seems too weak even for that cpu. My brother had a HIS digital x850xt on a 2600+(thoroughbred) with 512Mb ddr(3200) and he got just over 5300 in 3dmark05. I doubt that the amd cpu is over 30% better than your P4, but then again I´m just guessing.

For a pretty thorough processor comparison chart use the one on THG. It will let you compare most if not all procs. They also have a VGA chart. I dont know if it includes the x1900xtx or 1900 series. But I recommend to all my friends THG and their comparison charts.

You know THG. Toms Hardware Guide. Better yet see up at the top of this page where you have tab options. Click on the news and that should give you the comparison chart options. I believe the charts are on the right side of that page.
