I thought these things were still at around $280. You can get this refurbished for $190. I saw the XLs at around $190 a few months ago refurbished. But it looks like this is a pretty good contender against the GS which retails for a bit less. I'm not sure if this is because of the X1900 or ATIs answer to the GS.

Well, they are talking suggested retail price. Which the 7800GT is not $299 either. If supply remains strong, a drop in suggested price should mean a drop in street prices as ATI can't expect their partners to drop our card prices without ATI dropping the chip prices for them. If the X1800XL is to be ATI's $300 card (same price as the X800XL), then we should be seeing them well under that price; At least I hope so.
