Is there actually a video card that can play F.E.A.R on full settings and not lag.

Is the BFG 7800gtx one of them.
If not when will that new ATI x1900xtx come out and how much will it cost.

ACtually... include prices with all recomendations.

I've got a 7800GT as well. Mine is clocked bone stock and the rest of my system is not nearly as nice as yours. My system will not play FEAR smooth with all that stuff turned on. It does a pretty nice job but it will get choppy if you totally max it out. Of course it could be the rest of the system or your overclock that makes yours run so good.

i have yet to see a comarison with a 7800gt which is what i have changed to getting instead of the 1900xt, and am wondering if it can play full setting at 1600x1200 or whatever without softshadows, over 30 fps or close?

The 1900XTX is currently the top-of-the-line card, and I've seen it handle FEAR on all settings at 1600x800 resolution, but to save a few $$, I'd buy the 1900XT and overclock it to the XTX's speeds (that's the only difference, about 50MHz in speed). nVidia is going to be lowering their prices quite a bit in the near future, and the 7800GTX 512 or 7900GTX can handle FEAR at the same settings, you'll just get slightly lower FPS (this is assuming you run all the cards at stock speed). The bare minimum card I'd go with is a 7800GT.

I Can Play F.E.A.R. in Max Settings 4xAA,16xAF Also With SuperSampling AntiAliasing Mode , & My Intellisample Setting Are Set To High Quality , But With These Setting The Frame Rates Get Low In Heavy Action So I Reduce The Resolution To 800x600 & Now Even With SuperSampling AA The Frame Rate Is Above 70 Even In Heavy Actions

any decent card can play fear..i mean decent at least 256 ram and 256 bit
interface....turning all the setting on ..and i mean expecially soft shadows ..will require a strong cpu

ohh.and i play fear at 1024x768 aa4x af16x all details to the max except soft shadows ofcourse

i bet you cannot play fear on duron 1ghz 128 ram and x1900xtx...a joke of course but you guys know what i meant

Sorry Boy But F.E.A.R. Is an Ultimate GPU Limited Game , You Must Search For Some CPU Charst The Difference Between An AMD 64 FX 57 & MY CPU ( Stock 1.8GHz) is ONLY 3 FRAME ... So I Thinks A Duron 1GHz With X1900XTX Can Run F.E.A.R. Much Better Than Your Or My System !
& Another Thing Is I Play F.E.A.R. In 800x600 ( 4xAA16xAF MAX ) For 2 Reason :
1- First I Use Transparensy AntiAliasing That Reduce The Frame Rate (Example From 145 To 120 )
2- I Want My Frame Rate To Be ALWAYS ( Even in Heavily Battle ) More Than 70 !
& Off Course I Can Play F.E.A.R. in 1024x768 But With MSAA in Heavy Actions Frame Rate Dropped To 20~30 & I Dont Like It

relax man relax.........take it easy..you sound so angry you misspelled allmost all the words

bleahh...i said all the decent cards like mine and yours ...you don`t actualy believe that you can play fear on duron 1ghz 128 ram and heavy shiet like x1900xtx......just kidding :p

well on my shiet ..gets 100% over 40fps ..including heavy scenes..at 1024x768 all settings high, aa4x af16x ..except soft shadows.....

I'm playing FEAR on max settings at 1600x1200.

I have an AMD 64 X2 4400+, eVGA 7800 GT 256 MB video card, 2 GB of Corsair XMS memory and an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo.

I run dual screens, both 1600x1200, and will play FEAR, World of Warcraft, and many other games on their highest settings while doing other stuff on the other monitor like burning DVD's; no problems.

Wow , Very Interesting : Can You Please Post All Of Your Frame Rate From F.E.A.R. PerFormance Tests Like This (It`s My Benchmark ) :
1024x768 Max Quality 4xAA+16xAF + MutilSampling AA ( High Quality Intellisample ) & OffCourse W/O SoftShadows :
Min : 34
Ave : 58
Max : 142
20% Between 25~45 Frame
80% Above 45 Frame
I`m Really Interesting In Your System Man ... I Didnt Buy ATI Since My 9800Pro ... If An ATI Radeon X850XT PE Can Run F.E.A.R. That Perfect ( Even More Perfect Than A 7800GT :( , I Think It Is Time To Change My Graphic Card To An ATI Card ...

good thinking man....the key word in here is bottleneck.......mem....bad mobo...crapy cpus.....i think anything can hold down the video ..even in fear...which i agree is gpu intensive of course.....

sure we all understand what that means not much difference between cpus in here ..as some friend upstairs said 3 fps between two cpus......but remember that there are a lot of people watching these forums ...same with no IT experience .. and same could think that you can run fear on duron.....with x1900xtx as i joked earlier...poor little duron .....

I used my friend's Opteron 165 overclocked to 2.7 versus my Venice at 2.8. I lost 2 FPS. That goes to show how much difference a CPU makes. I just don't want some moreon to run this on his 3.0ghz Intel or AMD 3000 and wonder why he can't play everything on 1600x1200 soft shadows.

theres noo way in hell your running the settings like that in fear with out extremely getting low frames. i have a 7800gtx OC, an fx 55, and 2 gigs of ram, and i cant get it that high without chopping a good portion of my frames, i run it at 1024x768, everything maxed wtih soft shadows, 2 AA and 4x filters. and with that setting, it runs smooth, with very little slow down at certain parts. so if your running at those settings your saying, its def not "smooth as silk" the whole game.
