my present rig is p3 866 512mb / fx 5200 with 128mb

i plan to upgrade within a day or two to amd64 3200+ /512mb ddr 400
with gigabyte nforce 6100/ 430 on board graphics since i am on a very tight budget i would be very grateful if you all could guide me whether my choice is okay i will upgrade my graphics later

Some folks have had better luck with the Biostar 6100, but I have no experience with either. Newegg probably has both. The Biostar is cheaper, and comes in 2 models. Newegg also has the asus a8n-vm with the same chipset for $47 shipped as a refurb, without accessories such as the backplate. Some get lucky and get the accessories, but mine have all been bare boards only.

coolermaster 380w smps
kingston 1gb 3-3-3-3 ddr 400ram

benchmark scores with everest and sisoft sandra are a little lower compared to nforce3/4
