Error Starting Program

Will appreciate detailed instructions for clearing the following error.

Getting the following error on startup: Quote:

The XAUPDATE.EXE file is linked to missing export
SHELL32.DLL:SHGetSpecialFolderPathA.

Unquote.

The only other thing in the message is the OK box.

Pressing OK clears the error message.

Basics: Windows95B, IE 5.5, AVG AntiVirus, PopUpStopper, ZoneAlarm 2.1.44,
ZoneLabs TrueVector Service Version 2.1.44, are the programs installed.

Also have MS Hotfixes as follows: UPD001, UPD006, UPD002, UPD003, UPD004,
UPD005,UPD007, UPD008, AND UPD010.

XAUpdate.exe is the Panicware automatic update notification. To disable the updates,
please right-click on the product icon by your clock and choose Updates from the
Preferences menu.

Your error indicates that xaupdate.exe is looking for a function of the shell32.dll
file that the Win95B version of the file does not have. Apparently, the Panicware
updater is not compatible with Win95.
