Is P5P800 compatible w/ an XFX 6600 geforce 256mb card?

Can anyone enlighten me regarding this question? Im a newbie..just bought a pc..i want to install my newly bought video card (xfx 6600 256mb)...is it compatible with a asus p5p 800 mobo? the rest of my specs are. P4 3.2, 120 G baracuda,PQI 512 PC400 ..Hope to hear on my newfound community. Thanx!

I dont see why it woudlent be as long as it has the proper AGP or PCI slot on your mobo. But you need a good Powersupply. For a 6600GT you need at least a 350W so I would imagin the same goes for the 6800 or better if that.

Thank you sir. Im currently overseas. i have my buddy back home installed it for me. although he knows quite a lot on computers (he was the one who assembled my pc) i really dont trust him that much. he just sent me an offline message saying the card and the mobo isnt compatible.i havent talk with him yet whats really the score...maybe he is referring (not compatible) to the slot....is there any way or a gadget that is available that connects non compatible mobo's n video cards...an adaptor or something.....your reply is much valued....maybe i have to send it to a certified technician....
