by reading on this forum, I tend to believe an opteron dual core socket 939 (opteron 165, 170, 175 and 180 if I am not mistaking), if overclocked, could be an excellent performing solution with a good price/performance ratio for a gaming computer . But if I go see on motherboard manufactor sites it never mentions support for opterons, only athlon and sempron for the motherboards I was looking at (socket 939 gaming solutions).
If it says it's a socket 939 motherboard, does this always(!) mean every socket 939 processor and expecially the opterons 939 will not only fit, but also be recognized and/or work properly ?
