HDD is needed for a old pc. Motherboard is a ASUS CUSL2
The manual says " Ultra performance: Onboard IDE Bus Master controller with two connectors that support four IDE decices in two channels. Supports Ultra DMA/100, Ultra DMA/66, Ultra DMA/33 (IDE DMA Mode 2), PIO Modes 3 & 4 and supports Enhanced IDE devices, such as DVD-Rom, CD-Rom ...BLA BLA "

On the cover of the manual it says where it lists some of the features of the Motherboards "Dual channel UltraDMA/100 BM IDE"

On the front of the orignal Mother board box it says " ATA 100 Support"

the one I took out is a IBM Deskstar Model: DTLA-307030 ATA/IDE
Capacity 30.7GB
P/N 07N3929
RPM 7200rpm

Is a something like the stuff I see at NewEgg like the Ultra ATA 100 is that compatible??
thanks

Any decent ide drive should work. I like the 80gig Western Digital w/ the 8 mb buffer, It's fast, quiet and cheap($56 at newegg, shipped). I've installed 3 of these in different 3-5 yr old pc's and it worked great everytime.
