I have a Hauppauge WinTV PVR-500 sitting on an Intel D955XBK with a Pentium D 830, running Windows MCE 2005. Of the two tuners on the card, one works fine. It displays well, records well, etc. The other looks like there's no ground connection to the incoming cable signal. I get fuzzy sound, a snowy picture, and generally what looks like a bad cable connection. The strange thing is that since the two tuners share the same connection, I would expect them to exhibit the same output behavior. Anyone know how to further diagnose this problem?

Sounds to me like there might be a problem with the second tuner. Could just be a bad card.

Do you have the most up to date drivers for the PVR card? Check if there are any firmware updates available for the card.

Otherwise you could try to RMA it and get a replacement to see if you continue to have the same issue.

Thanks for the tips. I tested with WinTV2000 per Hauppauge's recommendation, and the card is now on its way back to Newegg. Oh well.
