Just finished building my rig a couple of days ago... been getting all my apps installed. I can't remember for sure if it was always like this, but right now my WD Raptor 74 GB is showing up in the safely remove hardware in the system tray... What is going on here? It should not show up there should it? I feel like this happened after I installed my crappy lexmark printer (will never buy lexmark again btw).
Should this show up this way? And if not, what can I do to turn it off?
SATA is hot swappable on some boards - system treats it like it does with usb.
I have 2 250gig drives in a raid 0 and both show up. Just make sure you dont disconnect them. I have no idea what will happen if you do.
I clicked the remove icon on a customer's pc I had just built, and nothing happened, the remove icon returned a couple of seconds later. Later I reinstalled windoze w/out the nvidia ide drivers and the icon never returned.
