I was shopping around for an Opty 165 and saw 2 differnt options at the same site.

One listed with L1 cache as 128kb + 128kb (OEM and more $$)

Other with L1 cache as 64kb + 64kb

Both 939.

Looked around AMD's site didn't find anything.

Anyone heard of this?

All other specs are the same

Very interesting... newegg.com has both listed. Like you say, one has 64kb x2 and the other has 128kb x2. Yet both are supposed to be Denmark cores. After doing some reading on other forums, a lot of people have the same question.

It appears that are 2 different Opteron 165 cores... one with 2x 64kb L1 caches and another with 2x 128kb L1 caches.

My X2 4200+ Manchester says I have the 64kb x2 caches. See here:

I would get the chip w/ the 128kb x2. It's only $10 more. If it turns out to be 64kb x2, then call newegg and complain. :)

youre going by what newegg says... both processors have 64kb*2 cache, on both cores. the difference between the newegg ones is one is retail and one is oem, the retail was 355 before and now it dropped to 325, end of story.
