  1. gaming???? here are some critical changes

3200+ instead of 3500, no performance loss except for less cash (i have the 3200+)

X1600XT??????? no, no, no. Get yourself some 6800GS or X800GTO or GTO2

I have that RAM and it is great for it's price. IT won't run at 2.5-3-3-7 1T on auto, you gotta tighten it (but probably can't achieve). Mine runs at 2.5-4-4-8 2T on auto.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hitachi are not as reliable as WD or seagate, so look for those

1k budget huh? You can get a 7800GT and double your performance

    what PSU are you getting?
  2. http://www.partspc.com/ProductDetails.asp?CatID=71&ProdID=9695

MB and cpu in a combo with free shipping. $299.94

    http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=100700-1

Hard drive Maxtor 100 Gig free 2nd day air. $62.75

    http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=EV-P6800GS&c=pw

Video card geforce 6800GS 256MB pci-express free ground shipping $192.62

Keep all the rest of the parts the same and you should still come in just under $1000. Free shipping is always good... Stay with the 3500+ cpu and use a 6800 video card and it will perform for you. I only use maxtor hard drives because every time i've tried another brand they have failed within a year, but that is just me. If you really want to play go to www.pricewatch.com just make sure you check the stores out with resellerratings.com before you order. Pricewatch also has store ratings on it. If you need anymore help just ask.....
  3. Cool, thanks for the info.My power supply is the 500w that comes with the case. What is so much better about the 6800 GS that the 1600xt.How would I fit the 7800 into my budget? And the last thing, I would like to by everything from one site, prefearbly newegg.
  4. the 3500+ runs at 2.2ghz, the 3200+ runs at 2.0ghz, the 3500+ is actually a good buy I think.
  5. I don't know. My friend just got a computer from cypber power computers with nearly the same specs. It runf BF2 on all high settings including AA and AF. I really like everything abou my system except for the mbo and the hard drive, could anyone sugest anything.

    Processor
    - AMD Athlon 64 3500+

  6. I have noticed that 3000+ is expensive than 3200+, anyways... if you are into overclocking i would recommend you athlon 64 Venice 3000+, these puppies can overclock over 2.5ghz with the rite cooling.
  7. I don't really want to overclock and I think the etra .2 ghz is woth the 20 bucks.

Edit:The reason the 3000 is more expensive is because it is the E4 I think. And the cheaper 3200 is like somthing below the E4.
  8. Sry about the double post but I kinda wanted to bump the post. I know it is early to but w/e. Anyway I am not sure this will work but here is my wishlist from newegg with all the latest revisions.

  12. Ya, I realised this and and just posted the specs. So what does everyone think?
  13. Consider this RAM, too.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227069

A bit more expensive, but I think it's worth it.
  14. Also, you do realise that Gfx card takes up 2 Slots right?

  16. With an Athlon 64 3400+, 6800GT, and 1gb of RAM my rig
struggled to run BF2 @ 1600x1200 on high with all the eye
candy on. Once I got a 2nd gb it runs smooth as glass.
I'd suggest getting 2gb of RAM.

    (all running stock speeds...for now)
  17. Ya I wish I could put an extra hundred in my budget but I can't. Besides if I could I would get a better mouse, keyboard, and spekers beside my crapy old ones with the money. Anybody got some advice that would make it better but would't change the price?
  18. So everyone thinks it is perfect?

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^yup
  23. if you get this case - Antec Solution SLK3000-B Black Steel ATX Mid Tower
and this power supply - XCLIO XClio 450BL ATX 450W

You will have enough to get more ram. It will be worth it. You don't need 550W. I did a lot of research on the case and psu and they are both great value . . . I bought them both myself.
  24. Alright heres the deal.I was talking to my dad and he said if I got a good productivity I can Increase my budget to 1200. SO now 1200 including shipping, productivity software, and the os. I think I might make a new thread with the 1200 budget. Thanks for all the help.
