I'm planning on building a new pc

Witch CPU is better 3500 Venice or the 3700 San Diego?

The price is about the same here in Holland 214 Euros for the 3500+ and 226 Euros for the 3700+

What is the best choice?

I have been really leaning toward getting the 3700+ San Diego because I think its the best for the price...the 3500+ Venice has 512 L2 cache compared to the San Diego's 1 MB. Both run at 2.2GHz but I have seen posts claiming that people have overclocked the San Diego up to 3.4 Ghz.

I checked up on their head to head comparisons and the San Diego only outperforms the Venice by single digit percentages...but I'd still go with the San Diego just because its a bit faster and is just dollars more.

you can compare 2 cpus here but be careful because it will let you choose 3500+ for example but doesnt list which core you have chosen. So just look at the chart to make sure you have chosen the one you wanted to compare.

Venice can be nice, but it rains there a lot this time of year. Also, the septic system on the entire island uses those picturesque canals not only as roads but also as sewer systems. You don't want to be walking around the residential areas in warm weather at low tide, if you get my drift. Venice is also very expensive. You can stay on the mainland at a hostel or campsite for very little though, if you want to rough it.

San Diego is a lot hotter and drier. This time of year it can be fairly moderate, around 70 during the day. That's probably a little too cold to go to the beach, but it should ahve a good night life, and Tijuana is just down the road.

From Holland Venice will be much cheaper for airfare, airfare to San Diego would prbably cost 800-1000 Euros.

I read on here about someone cranking it up to 3.4ghz...I thought that to be pretty crazy myself...2.7 or 2.8 is much more believable.
