dug up an old hp keyboard that i really like from the storage and found out it was a hangout for mice. Mice poop and smelly. How can i safely clean it and get rid of the smell.? Can i just pour alcohol over it and let it dry?

try poping all the keys off and cleaning with a damp water/cleaner cloth. Try to avoid getting any water inside the keyboard as this could mess up the key contacts. Other than that my suggestion would be to just get a new keyboard.

If it is a modern one, you can use the sprayer in the kitchen sink, invert keyboard, and spray upward at keys then shake, clean and dry off with towel, let dry overnight, can set dry towel on water heater overnight, and it should be like new in the morning.
Works.
