Best Graphix Card for $200 range

Since you are in the USA (looking at Newegg), the best $200 card in PCI-e (or AGP for that matter) is the X850XT.

Newegg has some solid pricing. Not always the cheapest, but well worth checking each day.  

While I say X850XT for $200, this GTO2 for $175 shipped after $20 rebate looks to be a good one for him to grab to save a fe more bucks. 16 pipes out of the bix so they say.

Wow I didn't know the 850 xt prices dropped so severely. That looks pretty tight. Anybody else got some better cards that the 850XT in that price range.

I do really like the HIS cards. But how much perfomance am I giving up between the HIS Hightech Radeon X800XL and the SAPPHIRE Radeon X850XT.

This is such a hard decision. I see my friends 1600xt look so smoth and play at graet fps but then you all tell me that the 1600xt is bad and the 850xt is way better. But I saw some screen shot with the 850xt and my friends 1600xt is so much smoother.Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

Has anyone had first hand experience with both the 850xt and the 1600xt. Can anyone find me some good screenies of the 850xt.


Edit: Now two other forums are both saying 6800GS, why cant this be easier and ther be only one great card in this price range.What I really hat is how it is a tough decision on a card in the same company.

Well I changed around my comp specs so I could fit the eVGA 7800GT in the budget. Now there is nothing better in that price range is there?

x850XT is equivalent to the 6800 Ultra but a little better. The 6800GS is actually an almost exact clone of the 6800GT with is pretty close to the x800XL and both offer equal performance. The x1600 is equivalent to the 6600GT but the GT has been out for a couple years now and offer the same performance.

So, comparing a 1600 to a x850XT or 6800GS isn't a fair comparison, the 1600 will be the dog every time. It's almost impossible to gauge image performance from just a screenshot. It's easy to see differences when there is no motion, but read any review and if the differences aren't glaringly obvious the reviewer usually points out for all intent the cards are usually the same in image quality.

Are you serious?? x1600 can kill a 6600GT. X1600 have higher clock speeds and more pipelines than 6600GT. But you're right, y ou can't copare X1600 to a X850XT, cuz the 850XT will make a mockery of the X1600.
