Have an old XPi CD Laptop which will not play music CD's -
Have checked the volume control and it says there are no
mixer drivers installed - Have followed the instructions
and gone through control panel etc but nothing. Any
ideas.

Followed *what* instructions? Gone to Control Panel and done *what*?

It sounds like you may not have the correct sound drivers installed. Have you tried
reinstalling the sound drivers?
