Email sending

I hope this isn't too simple a question but I cannot seem to get my PPC to
send emails. I do receive (I'm on a wireless network) from the POP3 mail
account I use and the SMTP on the PPC is set up the same as in my laptop
(which I realize may be the problem).

I have an HP 4155 iPAQ if it makes a difference and running Outlook on my
laptop.

Sending and receiving use different servers.

On a "normal" connection the pop3 and smtp server may be the same, but
when connected via a different provider (i.e. your mobile carrier or
wifi hotspot) the smtp server _must_ be the server provided by the
current connection rather than your isp connection.

You can set up multiple inbox services with the same pop3 (receiving)
server and a different smtp (sending) server to use depending on where
you are currently connected.

Post more details such as the "where" and we will try to help

By "Where" I assume you mean the SMTP address. Ergo it is SMTP.comcast.net
I am located in a couple of different physical locations if that's what you
mean as well. And they are in the Massachusetts (USA) area and then in the
Florida (USA)
(southwest, Florida) area as well.
I anxious to use that function so would like to learn more. It sounds like
I can have an email function for when I visit a Starbucks (god forbid) and
use their web capability?

Sometimes it is enough to mark the option "Outgoing server requires
authentication" which is in the advanced settings of your mail service.

Helio, thanks for the tip on setting the "authentication" box. That seems to
have worked. I'm still anxious to know more about setting up several
different mailboxes by setting the "outgoing" server to the correct setting,
however. In the meantime I appear to be able to at least send from here.
