I have an olde system that I am trying to make productive. It came w/ 95 and
I ungraded it to 98. I had probelsm with the hard drive and had to reformat.
Before all of this I in stalled a new CD drive. Now as I try to rebuild the
system using the Windos 95 Master Diskette the CD drive is not being
recognized. So I can't load 95 in order to upgrade again to 98. Funny thing
is that when I put the 98 CD in it works and takes me to the point where 98
relaizes that 95 is not installed. Any way to load 95 in working round this
issue so that i can upgrade to 98???

It sounds like you have an upgrade version of Win98, and that Win98 is
what you want to wind up with.
So, put the Win98 Upgrade CD in the drive, and let it start. When it
asks for proof of a qualifying product, remove that disk and put in
the Win95CD. That should satisfy it, you'll be able to put the Win98
disk back in the drive and continue.
I'm not sure what a "Win95 Master Diskette" is. It sounds as if it's a
bootable floppy that does not include CD-ROM drivers. You might try
going to www.bootdisk.com and getting a bootdisk with CD drivers. Boot
from that, then put in the "master diskette" and run "setup.exe" (or
whatever is supposed to run on that disk). But you're already able to
read the Win98 CD???
