Printer choice help please

I am thinking of buying either an Epson Stylus Photo RX420 or an Epson
Stylus CX3600.

I like the idea of a copier/scanner/printer device and would like to print a
few photos on occasion. However, most printing will be straightforward text
and pictures on plain paper, not photo quality prints on photo-quality
paper.

The 2 printers are similarly priced but I am wondering if the RX420 is
geared more towards photo printing and not "standard printing". Perhaps the
quality of standard is not that good?

I would welcome your views please.
