I have a athlon 3500+ cpu and can only o/c upto 10%! I have seen the same processor o/c to 17-19%. Where can i get extra power from?

I have an Asus A8V deluxe Rev1, 4 x 512mb Corsair C2 3200, MSi 6800GT, Antec truepower 550! 2 x Hitachi Deskstar 80gb Raid0.

Another question, the 2 drives I have in Raid 0 are both 80gb hard drives and would expect them to show as 1 80gb in windows but it shows 160gb..............what happened to Raid 0.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I have tried lowering the HT to x4 and x3 but it just locks when booting into windows.

The 10% overclock I have acheieved already is using the OC'ing feature on my bios. I can manually change the fsb to 223hz anything over and the system does not want to play ball!!

Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance

i also used to own ASUS A8V Deluxe w/ Athlon 64 3500+
one thing i can tell you... ASUS A8V Deluxe SUX in OCing

lowering HT doesn't help
i also changed ram ratio... doesn't help either

OC more than to 222 or 223 MHZ FSB = SYSTEM CRASH!!!
Maybe it's their new bios... but it SUX

i had corsair 3200C2PT; i couldn't get more than 10% OC
then i had an opportunity to sell my 3500+ and got X2 4200+
samething... no more than 10%

then i thought... maybe the ram...
so... i gave the ram and other X2 (3800+) to my lil brother
w/ EPOX something J SLI not + SLI

now he OCs about 20% w/ Zalman "expansive" fan w/ AS5 =/

i'll sell my a8v tomorrow@ ebay for $30 when i get DFI SLI DR Expert
i hope i can OC more than my lil bro.

Lower the multiplier to test your RAM limits.
I have an Opteron 175 and can do the following to get same CPU overclock...
Apply whatever speed based on your CPU, this is just an example of mine...
11x240 or 10.5x252 or 10x265 or even 9.5x278 or maybe 9x294 = 2650 MHz
