Question about External hardrive

I recently purchased a Maxtor 500gb external hardrive that has both usb 2.0 and firewire. I purchased a firewire with usb 2.0 pci card and I am also running an ata controller card for my hardrive. Will I have any conflict issues or data loss problems , or will the card act indepently.

give it a try.......i can't see where you would have any problems.....i had a sata pci card in my old rig,,,,and i was also using an external drive to do occasional back ups of mp3 and photos.

Did you have another firewire pci card in as well. Thats my concern, cause the guy at compusa told me sometimes a hardrive controller card and firewire pci card could conflict, but yes i will try it out, not before backing up everything important to dvd... just in case

That is the first time i ever heard anything about a firewire and sata pci cards conflicting with one another.
