I currently have a AMD FX-60, 2GB Kingston Hyper X ram and a BFG 256MB 7800 GTX OC and I only get 8255 with 3Dmark05? I know I'm suppose to get higher but what is making me get lower score?

More about : 3dmark05 score low

Karma!

BTW, who says you should get more?

That's just about right if you haven't OC'ed further.

O really. Thanks for the info. I thought I would get more. I just ran SLI and only got a 100 more score. Is this normal too?

Not sure what board you have, but a lot of boards have this SLI switch thing on the motherboard. It's a card between the PCI-e 16x slots that you have to reverse to make SLI work.

On other boards (like mine), SLI can be enabled/disabled using the BIOS or a driver. In this case, make sure the ForceWare drivers are using SLI. For example, I have to go into my display properties and tell nvidia's drivers to use SLI even though it's enabled in my BIOS.

Make sense?

That setup is close to mine, and if you ran SLI and only scored 8300 theres something wrong. With that system and 2 7800GTX, you should be atleast 11k or better. Like MP said not sure what MB you have but make sure it has SLI enabled, and update new forceware drivers.

Also what resolutions are you running 05' on? Reason being is that i ran 06' in 1074 x 768(or whatever it is) and scored 4800 then changed resolution to 1200 x 1074 and scored 8200.

As for 05' goes, tweak that beast up and push for the 12k, that system can handle it :)

Slightly more detailed specs would make it easier to compare. Like whats the exact frequencies on your 7800GTX. I have a A64 3700+ Sandiego (stock) and a Asus 7800GTX Top with factory OC 486/1350 (more details in my sig). I get a score of 8550 in 3Dmark05 with Anti-Virus and all ruinning in the background. Your processor is 400Mhz faster then mine even if you ignore the fact that its dual-core. I think its the 7800GTX frequencies which dictate the score more then the processors in 3Dmark05 (as opposed to 3Dmark06 which takes into account the CPU scores, where you will most definetely score much higher then my 3700+).

In SLI he should demolish 05' benchmark. Atleast 10k +

Agreed... my setup scores over 11K w/o any overclocking.

I think he's got something screwed up w/ his SLI.

I just recently assembled a system for my boss with an FX-57, and 2 BFG 7800GTX's and only 1 gig of Generic RAM. His 3D Mark 05 score was in the upper 12k's I think it was like 12857 or something like that. I would defenitly check to see if you have all your drivers installed correctly, and that SLI is properly configured if you are indeed running SLI.

How would I do so? My GTX are clocked to 460/1300. I just tried the test again and only got 8355. I think something is wrong with my PC. Btw the Mobo is a bio-star N4SLI-A9.

Are you sure you are running 05' benchmark? Those scores make more sense if you were running 06' 3dmark...

What resolution are you benching at?
January 30, 2006 9:11:50 PM

Yes, I used 3DMark05. I tried changing my resolution to 1280x1024. But since 3Dmark05 isnt registered, it benches at 1024x768. I tried to enable SLI enterup or something in the bios and it got me 8375. Anyone can tell me whats wrong?
January 30, 2006 9:29:58 PM

Make a checklist run then...
(1)Forceware drivers updated?
(2)Bios updated?
(3)Bios is set to SLI
(4)Under the 7800GTX settings tab, you have enable SLI checked
(5)Unless your real world benching, turn off all unnecessary applications and programs running in background
(6)Thats all i can think of atm... maybe some more board trollers can help out on different things you do to up that score.

Shanker's scores sound about right to me... I think people replying to his post may be confused about his video setup.

Does he or does he not have an SLI setup?

If he has a single card, his score is about right... if he wants a higher score buy a 2nd card for an SLI setup or just OC the one he's got to something close to or slightly above 500 with a similar boost in memory speed.

My X2-4400 OC'd to 2.6 with a 7800 GTX OC'd to 490/1.32 hits 8700 on 3DMark05.

After this, I was assuming he was running SLI. SLI refering to 2 video cards /shrug

Otherwise I agree, 8300ish would sound right for 1 card.

I have Dual 256MB 7800 GTX running SLI and only got 8375. Could it be my 40 processes? AOL does kind of suck. Where can I get the latest bios?
January 31, 2006 2:12:49 AM

Did you do what I said in the display properties?????????

go into display properties and make sure nvidia knows to use SLI.. you usually have to check a box.

also, make sure you're using the latest Forceware drivers from nVidia.
January 31, 2006 4:12:09 AM

I had SLI enabled and am using the latest forceware. Screw this, I'm returning this computer to systemax.
