I tried to update my Intel se7505vb2 bios but Intel told me make sure

IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Extract phlash16.exe, AUTOEXEC.BAT, OEMPHL.EXE, OPTIONS.BAT, 1.bat, 2.bat and BIOS.wph to a 1.44 floppy diskette.
2. Boot the system to pure DOS mode.
3. Run A:> 1.bat for auto mode, 2.bat for user mode.
4. When BIOS flash is over it will show message and beep, then reboot.

Note: The boot to DOS must be non-HIMEM management environment.
 Release Notes (txt)

Does any understand all this? HOW DO I CREATE PURE MS DOS AND NON-HIMEM management environment?

Please help me?  Big thanks in advance.

That just means you can't load himem or emm386, a generic boot disc from winxp will work fine for that. If for some reason your boot disk doesn't work right, hit F5 as soon as the machine starts booting from the floppy, then run your update.

Make any dos boot disk and when you see the "loading......" hold down the left shift key.  That'll load it in pure dos.

Or

Boot from a DOS, then rename the config.sys and autoexec.bat to something else (or delete them).  Then reboot.

That brings back memories.

XP does not have dos, it imulates it in highmem.

It's nice having old computers laying around when you have to do things like that.  You use to have to do BIOS updates that way only. Now it can be done from XP.  Win 3.1, 95, 98, NT, ME, and 2000 to name a few all have dos. Use one of them to create a bootable floppy.

Select format and check the box to put system on it.

Most computers these days no longer have floppy disk. And some mfg have even eliminated the conector on the mb. There is a few pin/mem/flash drives that can be made to be bootable.
