Does anyone have any opinions on getting Cingular service and phones
from A1 Wireless?

They seem like good deals especially if one prefers just a one year
contract.

In addition, when do they activate service? Do they do it before you
actually receive the phone?

Please posts response.

TIA

I used them twice. Great service! I didn't like one of the phones I
ordered, called them, and they Fed X'd me a different phone quickly.
They seem to have the best rebates and prices around and include car
chargers with the phones, too.
I didn't use them for Cingular, though, I used them when I had T-mobile.
I had to switch to Cingular when I moved and needed to get a GAIT phone,
which A1wireless didn't offer.
If I recall, the phone was activated when they sent it, but I received
it the next day.

I boughtthe 2 V400s/850 rollover plan. They delivered exactly what they
promised. The phones were new, the accessories were in the box along with
clean docs and rebate forms. I was warned by Adrienne that there would be a
4-day delay because I was porting my existing numbers over. 4 days later
Fedex (free) brought them, charged and fully functional.

Guven the fact that Sam's was selling these puppies for $180 each, the A1
free-after-rebate deal was terrific. I must admit that I expected some sort
of hassle. No problems whatsoever. I would use A1 again without hesitation.

When I click on the rebate (that makes the phones free) information it
states that the rebates are not valid if you port an old number within
180 days of activation.

Unless I'm misunderstanding that fine print, how do you both port old
numbers and still get the rqebate on the phones?
