How much a performance benefit do you get by having a sound card do sound processing stuff compared the the MB/cpu processor doing it?

Depends on app and the rest of the system. Note that this card does EAX 3, 4 and 5 that are not processed by onboard audio at all...

Eh? If all i'm gonna get is about 3-4 more FPS by using a sound card, its not worth it to me heh. I play CS sometimes, but mainly MMORPGs, my sounds is mostly from teamspeak / ventrillo chatting.

lol don't get a soundcard if that's the case. You probably won't notice the difference unless you got high quality speakers. Plus you use it for CSS and teamspeak, so there's no really a point that justifies a soundcard.
