hi,
ibm aptiva, windows 95B... runs really well HOWEVER recently the mouse
has been freezing: no changes preceded this (i.e. no additions; no
removals hardware or software -- no recent av updates before it began)
it does not generate an error message and the keyboard works! (including
the windows keys) (also the caps locks key works)
(mouse is ps/2)
it will happen right on boot, while typing, it does not appear to be due
a specific situation...
rebooting (warm even) cures it...
the hardware acceleration was at 3/4 and i just moved it to max or full
any help / advice would be greatly appreciated!
thanks

hi,
appreciate the reply!
i did the next best thing -- i disconnected it from the port and reconnected
it -- so far so good ... which imvho means that a new mouse would cure it if
it happens again
thanks,
sincerely
Tanya

contact cleaner -- with isopropyl alcohol, isoButane, and n-propane? (for
circuitry?)

i agree! perhaps i should start charging them a disposal fee the mouse in question, is 1 (out of 8 or so) that actually works (aside
from the frozen issue)

Do you have a real-time mouse drive in either autoexec.bat or config.sys?
Try remming them out and seeing if there is any performance improvement...
