Hello all

A connectify question here...

I had two laptops and both have connectify on them

One of them, when it runs connectify, it shows itself to other computers as a wireless G router (one with Intel Wifilink 5100, I think it's 5100)

THe other, shows itself to others as a Wireless N router (the other is a Broadcom 802.11n)

Both laptops are wireless N capable.

How do I make the other one show itself as a wireless N router?

Are you talking about the WIFI name of your connectify hotspot?

No. Not the wifi name. The "radio type". On one computer it shows up as 802.11g, and when computers connect to it, they get a max speed of 54mbps

On the other computer, it shows up as 802.11n, and when computers connect to it, they get a max speed of 72mbps.

So how do I make it so that it shows as 802.11n and get a max speed of 72mbps?

You know, when you connect to network, you just put your mouse over a network and it'll tell you the network radio type that says "Radio type", the fourth line where it says "signal strength", "SSID" and security etc...

Get rid of "Connectify" (whatever that is) and use Windows wireless config?

No, never. I use connectify to connect my devices to the internet, and I do not want to setup a adhoc network

I afraid the software I'm using is similar as Connectify. It's Virtual Hotspot. Super easy to use. And the speed is fast enough. Most importantly, it's free.
