I like my Thermalright Si-120. One of the most thermally efficient heatsinks according most reiews. Only the Thermalright XP-90C has a lower rating. But the reason I went with this one was that it looks cool, you can put any 120mm fan on it that tickles your fancy, plus it more or less gives you active cooling of your RAM and FET's and blows across my OTES (at least on my mobo). Prestty cheap, too. $40.00 at mwave.com.

Ive tried to find that there but mwave dont list ANY thermalrights...

That dont sound to horrible either. Newegg has it but its $51 and pure alluminum with no copper base...no way would I pay 50 for an all aluminum cooler...
the 92mm one ya talk about looks perfect but man is it pricey...then id need a fan to boot...

Ive heard about something about the freezer 64 here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] etailSpecs For the money it seems like a good cooler. Its tall but so long as your case can handle it, it might be decent.

Do you realize that the SI-120 is more efficient than those all-copper coolers you praise so much? The difference between copper and aluminium is all in design.. The difference between an all copper-variant and an all-aluminium one of any cooler is a few percent, but a better designed aluminium cooler will still beat both of them..

Hey guys, i came across this heatsink on newegg

Tuniq Tower 120 P4 & K8 CPU Cooler

website: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835154001

Well then I did a google search on it, and according to the review on xbitlabs its better than big typhoon.

Reply to unreal111

Ive read on the Tuniq and its supposed to be good actually but its SOOOO big. might be hard on the mobo with the frequent moving of said rig...

Both of them are great. They are indeed quite heavy. If secured properly you shouldn't have any problems though.

Reply to linux_0

go with the 9500 itll cool you down nicely, you might want to look to water cooling

Reply to Dybowski

Big Typhoon will out perform all of those coolers. Its a fact.

Reply to Lead_Head

ive considered H20 but i move my computer sometimes more than once a day from town to town. Im affraid i'll leak :(

Big typhoon has bee considered but @ $65 it ought to do your dishes too...

well the scythe ninja is good or you could get a zalman like linus said btw if i were you i would get some kind of hybrid cooling like water and air or fanless water!

Reply to dvdpiddy

I would recommend the Zalman 7700, keeps things real cool when OCing 8)

My roomate is currently running, a Scythe Ninja with an Ultra 120 mm Fan (60 CFM) his CPU runs cooler than his board, under load it's a whoping 38 degrees C.

*edit*
AS5 TIM as well...

Reply to penguin_d

i cant even find the ninja but such a goofy naming scheme...

Sorry, it took us forever to find it as well...
Here's were we ordered it from: www.frontierPC.com

:D

true since aluminum can dissiplate heat to air faster than copper. Copper only transfers heat faster through the same medium.

heres a nifty fact for ya i woudl choose the Big Typhoon

why?

it beats zalmans flagship cooler

AND

its cheaper, we all love it whem our moeny stays in our wallet

Tt Big Typhoon - $54 + Shipping (Newegg)
ZALMAN CNPS9500lman - 63.99 + Shipping (newegg)
