Hi,
I've been thinking about moving from a 17" to a 19" monitor. There's
a semi-local Staples store that is offering a sale on a 19" CRT
monitor with a "flat glass" screen ($130 USD). I know nothing about
the manufacturer; Envision. Here are the details:

I bought that monitor at a Staples in Iowa yesterday. Looks great, I
may buy another for my wifes computer. I don't know how long it will
last, but I'm very pleased with it's brightness and text detail.

Thanks Jason! The sale only lasts a few more days, so I'll probably
go pick one up tomorrow. There is a three year warranty on it, and
that's about as long as I've had any monitor, so as long as it works
well, I should be happy with it. :-)

I've got an Envision 19" on my wife's PC. Monitor is excellent and they're
tech support is great as well. We had a power surge take it out a year ago,
and they replaced it no questions asked. Advance replacement on top. I'd
recommend them.

you might want to save up a few more $$ and go for 21" tubes and run
at 1280x1024 (aspect ratio: 1.250) -- What res would the 19" run at?
1024x768 (aspect ratio: 1.333)?
Here's what dual 21" tubes look like.. with secondary video at left
(on PCI card).. tilted in slightly.

Thank you Jason, A-2 Xprt, and Gregory! I did go and pick up the
Envision unit a couple of days ago, and while it's not bad, there is
one small problem that I can't seem to sort out, and even the
Envision tech support person recommended that I return/exchange this
particular monitor.
The problem is a sort of "ghost-like" glow/shadow emanating from
objects (icons, menus, taskbars, etc.) when displayed against a black
background. Using all the recommended settings (resolution, refresh
rate, contrast, brightness, etc.), I still see this peculiar anomaly.
I've decided to return the Envision and go with a different monitor
altogether; a Viewsonic G90FB 19" "flat screen" CRT. At newegg.com,
I found this one for $219 USD, so it's a bit more expensive than the
Envision, but from all I've been reading about it, it sounds like a
good choice for me. By the way, here's the one I'm ordering:

Somehow my ViewSonic P810 (-20"view) unsigned drivers [signed aswell]
are not picked up in my WindowsXP(SP1). Still it shows a Default
monitor. Iam having a AMD-Duron1.8GZ/233FSB/256MBDDRam/ AGP8X
GeForceMX4000 64MBCard. .
The CRT may be now 6-7 years old and showing some trouble displaying
picture. I probably go by another CRT monitor of 21" or a 19"LCD. But I
heard the CRT is better than LDC for games. Is that true?
