I read the stickies, and they provide some picks of graphics cards based on price points.

I am looking for some graphic charts that compare various cards against a popular game, and just show the comparative performance in an easy to use bar chart format.

I am sure it is here somewhere. Appreciate a quick url or two to that resource.

Interested in pc gaming cards.

Thanks GreatGrape, that is exactly what I was looking for. My target game (for now) is COD II. So I can simply look at that chart, and pick the board that gives me the best price/performance.

The only thing to consider is for the top end cards, check out the latest reviews (both those sites I posted have older Catalyst drivers in their reviews). For a general feel of whether there's big performance holes or noth those will suffice.

Best thing to do is to look at a big X1900 review and see the performance in there if they have lots card for COD2. If that's specficially the game you are concerned with then these ones from Xbit

or Firingsquad might help with their latest single and dual card tests;

or better yet their COD-centric reviews too;

Shows you some vpu vs cpu limits, with the new DualCore support (no good compared to Q4);

Keep in mind the drivers again, those last two are old reviews (Nov'05).

I like that Firingsquad uses upper resolutions too, especially if you're looking at a top end card. For the mid-range stuff that's too much to expect from them.
